Cracking the Success Code: 24 Secrets You Can Learn from Jesus

Success Secrets from Jesus
15 Jun 2015

I was about 26 when I really started reading my Bible. Although I have been a Christian all my life, I had never made the connection between what I heard in church and what was in that book that, to me, seemed ancient.

When I finally did open that book and start reading, I wondered why I had waited so long! The more I learned, the more I realized that Jesus actually taught us everything we needed to know about success. Here are 24 lessons from him which you would do well to incorporate into your own success plan.

1. He figured out a problem that the masses had and provided an effective solution for it.

2. He knew his USP (Unique Selling Proposition) and what set him apart from the competition.

3. He began his business with the end goal in mind.

4. He didn’t wait for his target audience to come find him—he went out to where they were.

5. He took time to rest, regroup and reflect regularly.

6. He selected a diverse team of “Brand Ambassadors” with various strengths to help him build his “corporation”, the church.

7. He used his team’s mistakes as teachable moments instead of opportunities to criticize.

8. He took the time to develop his team and provided them with the necessary tools and knowledge to perform their work effectively.

9. He was a great storyteller and used those stories to reinforce his message and build his brand.

10. He was consistent in his messaging.

11. He kept his message simple.

12. He delivered on his brand promise: salvation.

13. He was always willing to step out of his comfort zone.

14. He genuinely cared about the people he served.

15. He recognized that service to others is one of the most important tenets of success.

16. He freely contributed to others’ success and well being, expecting nothing but loyalty and gratefulness in return.

17. He remained humble.

18. He led by example.

19. He didn’t make false promises or misrepresent his product.

20. He sowed tons of seed that is still bearing fruit today.

21. He always gave his “Boss” credit.

22. He learned from those who were more experienced before venturing out on his own.

23. He offered a (lifetime) guarantee.

24. He never, ever gave up on what he believed in—even when it became unbearable—because he knew someone out there needed the gift only he could give.

As we all know, having knowledge and actually applying it are two different things. How can you take some of these lessons and apply them to your own personal and/or professional life? What additional lessons would you add to this list?
