Journey to South Africa: #whyiloveAfrica Campaign

15 Sep 2015

Welcome to the #whyiloveAfrica campaign! I’m so glad you’re joining me on this journey to showcase the continent which gave me birth…literally. And that’s only ONE of the reasons #whyiloveAfrica. My name is Julian B. Kiganda—proud African and founder of Bold & Fearless. I was born in Uganda and moved to the U.S. with my family as a toddler. It wasn’t until my teenage years that I learned to embrace my culture. But that only happened once I came to understand the diversity and beauty of, not just my country, but the entire continent.

Not everyone understood what I knew to be true, though. The media often portrays the continent as dark, war-torn, poverty-ridden and hopeless. And this is why I’ve spent so much of my life working to break down stereotypes that persist about Africa.

Now I want YOU to be part of, what I know is going to be, a phenomenal journey. THIS October 2015, I am heading to South Africa for the first time ever. Not only do I want your help to get there, I want you to become part of a movement to help transform the image of the continent. This page will be where you will find updates, images and information about the #whyiloveAfrica campaign…
