Giving Hope to the Hopeless: Bishop Shirley Holloway Empowers Those Who Society Has Forgotten

Giving Hope to the Hopeless: Bishop Shirley Holloway Empowers Those Who Society Has Forgotten
27 Jan 2016

I first met Bishop Shirley Holloway during a radio interview with Howard Fisher on Washington, DC’s WHUR 96.3. We were talking about the joys and challenges of motherhood and how we both balanced those with our careers and our callings. A mother, grandmother, businesswoman, community activist and accomplished minister, I was intrigued and inspired by her story of coming from nothing to, now, empowering those who have nothing. In this Bold & Fearless interview (produced by Tameka J. Harris of Vibrant Video Live), you learn more about Bishop Holloway who, despite the many challenges in her own life, has continued to be an advocate and a champion for the homeless, the addicts, and the forgotten—exactly what Jesus has called us to do.
